Broadband Package – Technology & 3G Speed
Mobile phone companies and telecommunication businesses
have included the 3G Broadband Package into their available
services with 3G considered as the third generation technology
or standard pertaining to mobile phones.

The
3G Broadband Package
normally includes advanced services such as
wide area wireless voice telephony, broadband wireless data, and
video calls. This package also has the
feature of transmitting data via HSPA with a speed of up to 14.4
Mbit/s (upstream) and 5.8 Mbit/s (downstream). It is under the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
list of standards which is in turn under IMT-2000 (International
Mobile Telecommunications Programme).
The
first country ever to introduce the 3G Internet Package is
Japan, with the full transition done in 2006. Now, different
mobile telecommunications companies are upgrading into 3G
technologies from 1999 and will be ongoing until 2010.
3G
services superseded the so called 2 services because the
capacity of 2G services are limited and were not able to meet
the needs of the mobile phone users. 2G networks after all were
designed specifically for voice data and so transmission was
really turtle pace.
Because of this, the so called "2.5G" and “2.75G” technologies
were developed like camera phones, General packet radio service
(GPRS), etc. that aimed to be like 3G networks but weren’t
really as advanced or as complete as 3G Internet Packages. In
the end, the demand for the 3G Internet package increased
because the 2.5G and the 2.75G mobile technologies caught the
attention of the consumers.
