What is in a 3G Service Internet Package?

Many phone companies took the advantage of offering a consolidated plan for 3G service and Internet access, mostly broadband. This is because the portal for connection used for both technological applications are the same—the cell phone towers.

3G is a technical jargon for third generation cellular phones. The main focal point of 3G is to deliver network mobility to end users so they can access the Internet through their mobile phones. This allows consumers to talk with someone over live video feed and access to wireless broadband connection.

The main concern of 3G providers is its being expensive in terms of acquiring licenses. It is also very expensive to build the necessary infrastructure such as cell phone towers that can support this kind of technology. Although building the towers may be easily sustained, it is costly to maintain them and keep up with the adding numbers of users in terms of bandwidth capacity.

Many providers offer a joint package that allows users to have 3G access on their mobile phones and Internet access to their laptops on one billing. An end user may have the option to buy a separate laptop hardware that can access the Internet or use the phone to connect to the laptop and the web.

The bad side is that some companies force their subscribers into buying this package even if the end users do not need the other service. The government has already taken the necessary action to stop it and these greedy telecommunication companies will comply.
