Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing Your Home or Business Broadband

Broadband Internet access comes in various forms and they are all commonly referred to as high-speed Internet access. With all these Broadband variants, how do you know which one to choose?

Broadband is perfect for businesses especially those running online and consumers. The great thing about Broadband is that it runs at a considerably faster speed than your standard dial-up modem which takes forever to connect or load.

Again, broadband connection does not refer to one type of internet access only. It is continually changing and vast developments have been made only within the recent years. It all started with the DSL or the digital subscribe line broadband and it boomed to several other types of broadband connections which include Wi-Fi, WLAN, satellite broadband and mobile broadband. With all these Broadband variants, how do you know which one to choose? Which should you use for your business and which are you going to use for your home?

Knowing what you need

The key to knowing what kind of broadband connection you should opt for depends on two things:

a. How much the broadband access cost and if you can afford it.
b. What you need the Internet connection for or your purpose.

As long as you know what you need the Internet for and how much you can afford, you’d know what to look for. Your home Internet access can basically run on DSL. DSL is relatively affordable and fast. However, if you are running an online business at home, you might want to look into getting a satellite broadband. This type is definitely faster but is more expensive than DSL. It doesn’t matter what you choose as long as your choice perfectly responds to your needs.
