US Broadband Growth
More than half of US
households right now have broadband internet connection – a continued rise from
the previous year.

According to a report by the Leichtman Research Group,
“Broadband Access and Service in the Home 2007, there are about
53 percent of US households which have internet connections,
quite an ample rise to 72 percent compared to the 60 percent of
last year.
For broadband connections, the thing to consider is
the income of the households. Families which have a high income
of about $500,000 accumulate to 68 percent of households
compared to last year’s 59 percent. On the other hand, families
who have income of lower than $500,000 are also able to
subscribe to a broadband internet connection with a high rise of
27 percent from last year.
The first quarter of 2007 saw 2.9
million of US households having availed of a high-speed internet
connection. More than half a billion subscribers have already
benefited from the top nineteen top internet service providers
in the country, and this symbolizes to almost a hundred percent
of the broadband market in the country. As for cable, 30.7
million subscribers have already availed of this and for
telephone lines, more than 25 million households are rewarded.
By 2012, it is hoped that 70 percent, which equals to about 86
million homes, of all US households already have internet
connections, according to a recent report by the Jupiter
Research. And by this time also, it is expected that about 36
million people will subscribe to a high-speed internet
connection.
